What inspired you to start your business?
In my many years of working in education, particularly in primary and special needs schools, I recognised a gap in the way children are supported in managing their emotions effectively. I wanted to find a solution that would reduce negative behaviours and eliminate the need for restraint procedures – something that both staff and students struggled with.
I kept looking and in 2016, I found EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, or more commonly known as Tapping. This simple, non-invasive technique combines therapy with gentle tapping on energy points of the body. It helps to reduce stress, calm the mind and is a great tool for managing anxiety, fear, and overwhelming emotions.
How did the funding help your business?
I used the funding to secure additional EFT training so that I can make this powerful tool more accessible to students, educators and parents. It also allowed me to regularly join networking events and continue working with my business coach for an additional year. This created opportunities for me to secure contracts with charities that support young peoples’ wellbeing.
