What does your business do?
I specialise in creating unique preserved moss wall art and custom moss logo installations for residential and commercial spaces. I use premium, sustainably sourced moss and personal, artisanal craftsmanship.
How is your business different from competitors?
Unlike larger competitors who rely solely on mass production, I manage every step of the process, from the initial design to the final delivery. This hands-on method ensures that each piece is fully customisable and of exceptional quality, even at this early stage of the business.
What inspired you to start your business?
I was inspired by the transformative power of nature and its ability to enhance well-being indoors. Integrating natural elements, such as preserved moss, into our surroundings can create calming, focused environments that support mental wellness.
This realisation led me to establish Ecoluxe Decor Ltd to bring a touch of nature’s tranquillity into everyday spaces.
How does your background relate to what you do?
My background is a unique blend of technical and creative skills. I recently completed a BSc in Computing, which equipped me with strong capabilities in web development, digital marketing, and design tools – essential for managing an online business.
My Level 5 Construction studies, focused on technical drawing and AutoCAD, have provided me with the skills to design and plan each custom piece meticulously. These qualifications have been invaluable in setting up the business and ensuring our products are innovative and well-crafted.
What challenges have you faced, and how did the funding help?
Starting this business while completing my degree and caring for two young children has been both challenging and rewarding. Managing every aspect of the business has demanded significant time and resilience.
The loan has helped alleviate some of these pressures by allowing me to invest in vital stock and support initial marketing efforts, setting a solid foundation for the business’s future.
