The summer is sizzling, so it seems like a great time to launch some brand-new red-hot networking opportunities.

This week we set up two Facebook community groups that aim to enable SME owners to network, seek support, and access valuable resources.

Networking is so important when trying to grow your business. It helps you to seek guidance from your peers, foster new relationships, and meet people that can help your business succeed.

Across July, there are some incredible possibilities to network and seek business support at a wide range of events designed to support SME owners and entrepreneurs.

Read on to learn more about these fantastic online and in-person opportunities, and how they might benefit your business.

Our Facebook communities could help you access valuable business support

We’ve set up two Facebook groups:

The SME Growth Community is a welcoming space for business owners, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and leaders to connect, share experiences, and support one another as they grow their businesses.

Whether you're just starting out, scaling up, managing a team, or navigating the day-to-day realities of running a business, you'll find a community of people who understand the challenges and opportunities that come with entrepreneurship.

Here, you'll find practical discussions on topics including:

  • Business growth and strategy

  • Access to finance and funding

  • Cash flow and financial management

  • Leadership and people management

  • Marketing and customer acquisition

  • Innovation and productivity

  • Business support and opportunities.

We hope to grow the group over the coming months, allowing you to connect with as many like-minded individuals as possible.

The Female Founders Hub is a safe space for women in business to seek out support, connect, and champion other women who own, lead, or are building businesses.

Running a business can be rewarding, exciting, and challenging in equal measure. Having a supportive network of people who understand that journey can make all the difference.

The group enables women entrepreneurs, founders, directors, and business leaders to:

  • Share experiences and lessons learned

  • Ask questions and seek advice

  • Celebrate successes and milestones

  • Build meaningful professional connections

  • Discuss business growth, leadership, and finance

  • Discover opportunities, events, and support.

Women helping women get ahead.

We encourage you to join the groups and join the discussion. We hope to see both grown into communities of hundreds or even thousands of business leaders in the coming months; you can be a part of the process from the start.

There are plenty of events coming up in late June and across July.

First up, Ladies Who Launch 2026 — Funded & Fearless (London).

Ladies Who Launch is a non-profit organization, officially founded in 2019, dedicated to empowering a global community of women entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The event is sold out, but it's absolutely one to follow for future editions. Our Deputy Director, Danielle Davis, will be in attendance and speaking on behalf of First Enterprise.

Then, on July 2nd, the Summer Funding Summit — West Midlands.

This is a brilliant FREE, in-person event taking place in Shrewsbury, bringing together funders, lenders, and business support specialists all under one roof.

You'll get to discover grants, loans, and investment opportunities, and network with other founders and business support organisations. Our Business Advisors, James Minott and Andy Lee, will be in attendance, ready to talk you through our lending options.

Last, but not least, the Midlands Business Network Expo is being held on July the 2nd at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.

The event is described as being the ultimate way for businesses to connect, collaborate, and grow. An opportunity to discover cutting-edge technologies, innovative solutions, and the latest trends to elevate your business.

Our Investment Manager, Seth Addo, and our Business Advisor, Mohsin Rizvi will be exhibiting at the event, so make sure to stop by their stand and say hi!

Working with First Enterprise means being supported by familiar faces

We’re incredibly proud of the inclusive and supportive work environment we’ve fostered at First Enterprise. Our team are at the core of everything we do, so when they decide to stick with us over years (or even decades), we take it as a sign we’re doing something right.

This past month, we’ve had three more staff members hit important milestones at the company:

  • Vivienne Williams, our Loan Administrator, marked her first anniversary at First Enterprise.

  • Reshwin Reny, one of our Business Advisors, has now been with us for two years.

  • Petra Eddison, another of our Business Advisors, hit two years with the company.

We want to express a huge thank you to them all for their hard work and dedication. Here’s to many more years together!
