A Scandinavian inspired homeware and gifts store, Teppi Living, has secured £10,000 funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans under the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme to enhance its marketing and expand stock offerings.
The online homeware and gifts store, based in Staffordshire, offers a carefully selected range of sustainable homewares, handmade ceramics, and ethically sourced gifts that encourage slow living.
Founded by friends Ella Sheasby and Lydia Hutchings after an inspiring trip to Iceland, the store is also committed to sustainable practices and follows the steps put in place across several Nordic countries to actively fight climate change.
With the £10,000 funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, the business will look to significantly increase its marketing budget, including promoting the business through online ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram to help reach a broader audience.
Funding will also be invested in increasing stock ahead of the busy Christmas season.
First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans provides government-backed business loans ranging from £500 – £250,000 for start-ups and SMEs that are unable to borrow from traditional high-street lenders. The not-for-profit organisation reinvests profits into loan funds to further support economic growth and job creation in the local communities.
Ella Sheasby and Lydia Hutchings, Founders of Teppi Living, comments: “Thanks to the funding we have been able to reach a wider audience on social media with targeted advertising and stock up for our peak Christmas season. The guidance, insights, and personalised support from our adviser made the process efficient and enjoyable, setting them apart from traditional banks.”
Richard Bearman, Managing Director of Small Business Lending, British Business Bank commented: “Our partnership with First Enterprise is all about making a positive difference for small businesses such as Teppi Living. The £10,000 loan that they have secured will help to further expand their services and put a deserved spotlight on their brand. We are proud to be able to support them along their journey.”
