An IT consultancy and professional services company, Walker & Munns IT Consultants, has secured nearly £15,000 funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, under the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme, to assist in lead generation.
Walker & Munns IT Consultants is based in London but has provisions across the UK, providing advice on IT solutions, including IT operations and cybersecurity. They are committed to addressing the underlying issues, prioritising proactive solutions over reactive break-fix IT support.
Founders Ricky Walker and Dennis Munns started the business after identifying a gap in the market bridging business owners and external IT support. Using their combined experience of over two decades, they aim to assist small businesses rather than profit from recurring issues.
Ricky started as an IT Support apprentice and became a Head of IT Service Delivery, while Dennis specialised in IT Infrastructure/Architecture. The combination of expertise in IT Infrastructure & Service Management distinctly sets them apart.
The funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans will be used to assist in lead generation for the business, addressing the challenge of establishing brand awareness.
First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans provides government-backed business loans ranging from £500 – £250,000 for start-ups and SMEs that are unable to borrow from traditional high-street lenders. The not-for-profit organisation reinvests any surplus into loan funds to further support economic growth and job creation in the local communities.
Ricky Walker and Dennis Munns, Co-Founders of Walker & Munns IT Consultants, comment: “The funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans has helped us overcome the primary challenges we faced: establishing our brand, streamlining proposal processes, and securing the necessary capital.
My adviser was extremely helpful and efficient in handling my application, providing valuable guidance on how to utilise the loans.”
Stefan Nycz, Investment Manager at First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, comments: “It is clear to see how passionate Ricky and Dennis are about their business and I’ve taken great pleasure in assisting them in growing the business further. This shows how Start Up Loans can lead to fantastic outcomes.”
Start Up Loans, part of the British Business Bank, has recently announced Enterprise Loans East Midlands (ELEM) as the new regional Business Support Partner (BSPs) for the scheme.
Richard Bearman, Managing Director of Small Business Lending, British Business Bank commented: “Ricky and Dennis’ expertise and passion for their business is inspiring to see and I envisage the funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans to only spur Walker & Munns IT Consultants to be a continued success. I highly encourage any other similar businesses looking for funding to get in touch.”
