Childhood Friends’ Glamping Dream Becomes Reality

Client Success

A mutual love of camping and the great outdoors saw childhood friends Lara Collis and Jenny Lyon launch their own rustic luxury glamping business in Northamptonshire.

Based on working farm – Waterloo Cottage Farm in Great Oxendon – the glamping site has three yurts which sleep between two and six people. The site is eco-friendly and has features including solar panels – which power electricity in the yurts – a log burner, a wood fired hot tub and composting toilets.

First Enterprise provided a total of £45,000 funding through its Enterprise Loans East Midlands (ELEM) funding streams to help Country Bumpkin Yurts to set up – £20,000 of the loan was via Start-Up Loans.

Jenny Lyon, co-owner of Country Bumpkin Yurts said:

“We’ve had some amazing support from a number of businesses that have guided us to this point and it is such a good feeling to see the yurts complete.”

£45,000 of funding from First Enterprise helped open the luxury yurts.
