Lockwood Publishing is putting Nottingham on the creative map, thanks to Creative Quarter Loan Fund.
In November 2015 Lockwood Publishing received loan funding of £50,000 and has been using the money to expand and grow the business.
Lockwood Publishing creates entertainment software for the mobile market and has benefitted from First Enterprise’s and Nottingham City Council’s joint initiative – the Creative Quarter Loan Fund.
CEO, Halli Bjornsson, said: “2016 is gearing up to be a great year for Lockwood as we keep expanding and growing. Avakin Life is really flourishing as an app and it is evolving and expanding day by day and has more than 1.3 million active users on both IOS and Android.”
Craig Chettle, chief executive officer of Confetti Media Group and chair of The Creative Quarter Company, also added: “The Board has been delighted at the impact of the Creative Quarter Loan Fund over the last three years.”
“The fund has supported a number of creative industries businesses, like Lockwood Publishing, to develop and grow. I would encourage any business located in or looking to relocate to the Creative Quarter to contact First Enterprise.”
Since it was founded in 2009 by Halli Bjornsson and Joel Kemp, Lockwood Publishing has developed eight original games on PlayStation, iOS, Google Play and Amazon with millions of fans playing every month and millions of virtual items sold.
Joel Kemp, co-founder and company director of Lockwood Publishing, said: “The Creative Quarter Loan Fund has been extremely useful and has helped us with a targeted recruitment drive.”
